The YT-28319 non-contact AC voltage detector features a built-in laser pointer. It detects the presence of voltage within an insulated wire as well as in the immediate vicinity. Voltage detection is signaled by a flashing LED and an intermittent audible tone.
The detector operates based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. Upon activation, the device operates in low-sensitivity mode, detecting voltage at a distance of approximately 3 cm from the source. In high-sensitivity mode, it detects electromagnetic fields at distances of up to over ten centimeters from the source. The detector also enables the "non-contact" detection of breaks in live electrical wires; the device stops signaling the presence of voltage at the point of the break. Key features:
audible and visual (LED) indication
inductive AC voltage detection: 12 – 1000 V
low sensitivity mode* – AC voltage detection up to 3 cm from an insulated cable; strong indication upon contact with the cable
high sensitivity mode* – AC voltage detection up to 15 cm from an insulated cable; strong indication upon contact with the cable
inductive wire continuity test
two-level sensitivity adjustment
work area illumination via built-in white LED
laser pointer
tester length: 165 mm
automatic power-off after 5 minutes
power supply: 2 x AAA
*Distance and sensitivity specifications are based on tests involving ~230 V mains voltage detection. The 15 cm detection range was achieved while measuring a live cable in an area free of metal objects or other elements that could interfere with the electromagnetic field.
